The incumbent performs operational level duties in the Cardiology Lab with major emphasis on patient care delivery. Conducts in-depth interviews with patient and/or family, constructs comprehensive medical histories, performs initial and periodic medical exams, evaluates patient behaviors, directly performs or orders diagnostic studies and interprets finished results, and develops and implements long- and short-range treatment plans. PNT_CARE: Conducts in-depth interviews with patient and/or family, constructs comprehensive medical histories, performs initial and periodic medical exams, evaluates patient behaviors, directly performs or orders diagnostic studies and interprets finished results, and develops and implements long- and short-range treatment plans.
CLIN RES: Develops and implements education programs for patients, family members, and the community. Participates in teaching medical students and other allied health care providers under the guidance of faculty.
CLIN RES: Serves as an expert resource for implementation of approved and relevant clinical research protocols. Provides scientific contributions for grant preparation. Collaborates with research staff in the development and conduct of research as well as the dissemination of research findings through written publications, professional meetings, and community programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
BLS and ACLS certifications upon hire
Must possess a current California RN license
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire
Current CA Nurse Practitioner Certification
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Previous experience working as a clinician in Cardiology
Previous experience working as a Nurse Practitioner
